IP PBX and Voice over IP (VoIP) Systems

Over the last decade or so IP Telephony has become one of the standards that everyone now expects when they require a new phone system, and out of the melee is one clear winner; Asterisk. Now Asterisk isn't always mentioned or listed when people are quoting IP systems, but in the majority of cases Asterisk is at the heart of the unit doing all the work. We as a company adopted Asterisk in its early days of version 1.4 and have worked with it as its grown and expanded over the years and there really isn't anything that comes even close to its flexibility. Its due to this flexibility that we custom build the systems to each customers requirements with options like voicemail, call recording, queues, call groups and CoS all tweaked to fit perfectly into the environment. We don't ask that you use any particular handset and in fact offer a wide range so you can choose the ones that best fit your requirements, although you really must take a look at the Gigaset Maxwell 10, its an amazing handset and we're now using them throughout the GEN group.

Encrypted Calls

We also recommend and supply encrypted voice communications as an option to the standard buildout. Encrypted voice prevents any form of interception and decoding between your handset and any destination on a secure network such as other offices, or encrypted mobiles etc. Encrypted voice does not extend to other networks such as the BT PSTN network which uses a different technology.

24/7 Support

When it comes to support, our Managed Telephony option wins out every time with 24/7 critical care support, updates, patches, moves/changes and maintenance all for a fixed monthly charge with no up front payment required. Handsets on the other hand can be purchased by the customer or worked into the Managed Telephony Services (MTS) agreement. Even if you don't source your IP Telephony from GEN we have support options for your current PBX with a full portfolio of service level.

Handsets (Endpoints)

We offer and Support a full range of endpoints from very basic push and dial to the most advanced touchscreen based systems. Below is the Siemens Gigaset Maxwell 10 as an example of a high end endpoint, and the one that we use in-house at GEN.

For the more technical minded, we now use Asterisk 13 built on either Rhino Chassis (pictured) or HP Netserver chassis depending on the performance required. We provide a user console to manage voicemails, call recordings etc, and integrate with iSymphony so you can have dashboards showing queues, calls waiting, performance and so on. We can interface with ISDN2E and Primary Rate, Anologue lines, and of course SIP and IAX trunks. We fully support and configure encrypted telephony via SRTP and TLS for SIP Signalling and can additionally wrap this into a IPSEC tunnel for bullet proof voice encryption.

Convergence and Development

All our IP Phone systems are based on asterisk whcih allows us to quickly develop and integrate this with your in-house systems, from basic click and dial from a CRM, bringing customer records up on the screen upon answer and interactive company direction right through to intelligent call routing based on incomming CLI and much much more.
